All clients must read and agree to the disclaimer before grooming begins.

For the safety of our staff and your pet, we require the owner to disclose when booking if your pet exhibits difficult or aggressive behaviour. This is to prevent injury to staff and pets.

No liability will be accepted by us if your pet is injured because of aggressive or difficult behaviour.

No liability will be accepted by us if a health condition is uncovered or aggravated by any part of the grooming process. We endeavour to notify you of anything we uncover whilst grooming.

All dog grooming prices are based on a dog being groomed on a regular schedule in line with its breed and on the condition of their coat. Dogs not groomed on this schedule will be required to pay extra.

An additional cost will be incurred for any pets that require knot or matted coat removal. This incurs additional costs because it is a time-consuming process requiring expertise so as not to injure the animal, it also dulls equipment. Any additional products used in knot removal will be charged for.

Fleas incur an additional cost; we reserve the right to stop a groom if an infestation is detected.

We do not pluck ears for dogs but clip the hairs shorter instead.

We do not express anal glands, please take your dog to your vets.

Please make sure all dogs are well walked and given ample opportunity to toilet before attending their appointment.

Please note that any no shows will be noted, and regular occurrences will result in the deposit payment at the time of booking.

By signing this form, you agree to us taking and using pictures of your pet for social media, advertising, and education. If you do not wish pictures of your pet to be used for these purposes, you must notify us by opting out on the new customer form or by emailing us at tailtrimmers@gmail.com or at the time of your appointment.

Matting Policy​
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all animals must be protected from pain, disease, injury and suffering.
Matting or tight knots in your pet’s coat can cause irritation, infections, and hot spots. This will require your animal’s coat to be ‘clipped off’. This is uncomfortable for the pet being groomed and requires extra time and skill by the groomer to ensure the coat is removed carefully and without causing injury.
Although, we take the upmost care, the possibility of injury still exists. By leaving your pet with us to be groomed/clipped off you acknowledge that you are aware of the condition of the coat, the possibility of irritation and infections (fungal/bacterial) hidden by the existence of matting. Clipping off is stressful for your pet as it requires long periods of standing and the requirement to remain still. Animals will resort to nipping or biting to try to avoid the uncomfortable experience.
At Tail Trimmers, we are not responsible for any injuries sustained due to the condition of your pet’s coat.
Our prices are based on six to eight weekly spaced grooms, where the animal is brushed and combed through. In some cases, sooner if you have a long haired, wool coated or silky coated animal.
Matting will incur extra charges to the groom as it takes longer than the time allocated, requires extra patience, skill, and blunts and damages equipment.
We reserve the right to not complete but still charge for clip offs if your pet is distressed or the matting is too tight to the skin.
Cancellation Policy
We kindly ask that you provide us with at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to another client who may be waiting for an appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, we may charge a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the service price, depending on the circumstances.
Privacy Policy
Tail Trimmers is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. Any details provided by you will only be used by us for the purposes of processing your order, keeping you updated on Tail Trimmers offers and information or for our own customer research. From time to time, we undertake research with our customers and may contact you to take part.
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time and should be checked to ensure you are happy with any amendments. It is effective from 16 December 2023.
Security
We are committed to ensuring your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have in place electronic procedures to safeguard and secure information.

Other than to make and confirm your booking we may use your information for our own marketing and customer research.
